Dandiya Night Look 2026: How to Style Bangles, Jhumkas & Accessories with Your Navratri Outfit
Share
Dandiya night is the one evening where your outfit has to move with you. You'll be spinning, clapping and dancing for hours, so the look needs to flare beautifully, stay comfortable, and come alive with the right bangles and jewellery. Here's how to put together a complete dandiya look, from the outfit to the last bangle.
The dandiya accessory checklist
- Bangles: Glass bangles in two or three colours from your outfit, finished with a metal kada on each side. They sound lovely with every dandiya beat. Keep it to one wrist stack if you're playing with sticks all night.
- Jhumkas: Oxidised silver jhumkas suit almost every Navratri look, especially cotton, bandhani and mirror work. Choose lightweight ones so they don't pull while you spin.
- Kodi (shell) jewellery: A kodi necklace, armlet or hair accessory is the most garba look of all, and it shines under festival lights.
- Potli bag: Small enough to hold your phone, cash and lipstick, and it doesn't get in the way of the dance.
- Footwear: Flat juttis or kolhapuris. Skip heels, because you'll be on your feet for hours.
- Dandiya sticks: Decorate them with gota, ghungroo or ribbon to match your outfit colour for photos.

Quick styling tips for dandiya night
- One statement only: If your earrings are big, keep the neck bare. If you wear a kodi necklace, choose small studs.
- Match bangles to your dupatta, not the kurta, so the whole look ties together.
- Pin your dupatta on one shoulder or tie it at the waist so it stays put while you spin.
- Silver suits cotton, bandhani and mirror work. Gold suits silk and heavy embroidery.
- Carry a spare safety pin and bobby pins in your potli.
